The Heytu Family | Beach Photography at Seapowet & Fogland in Tiverton, RI

I had such a fun and unexpected experience recently that turned into one of my favorite family photography sessions this summer! Kelsey reached out looking for a photographer, and while it started as a case of mistaken identity, we connected right away. I’m so glad we did, because it led me to a hidden gem—Seapowet and Fogland Beach in Tiverton, Rhode Island, just a short drive from my home in Westport, MA.

One of the things I love most about being a Southcoast family photographer is discovering beautiful coastal spots for portraits. I had never photographed at Seapowet/Fogland before, but it was absolutely stunning—calm water, open skies, and plenty of space for kids to run around. It’s the perfect backdrop for beach family sessions in Rhode Island.

Kelsey’s boys were the stars of the evening. They were full of personality, incredibly photogenic, and made my job so easy! Watching Kelsey and her husband Mike together was heartwarming—so much laughter and love between them. I always aim to capture families in their natural element, and this session was filled with genuine moments that reflect exactly that.

We scheduled the shoot around golden hour, and the timing could not have been better. The soft sunset light gave us that dreamy glow, perfect for creating bright and natural family portraits by the ocean. Between the stunning coastal backdrop and their joyful energy, everything came together beautifully.

This session at Fogland Beach in Tiverton, RI was a reminder of why I love photographing families—every shoot is a chance to create timeless memories in places that mean something special. I left feeling grateful for this serendipitous connection and excited to add another gorgeous Southcoast photography location to my list of favorites.
